As part of the 2021 commemorations, a carved stone sculpture inspired by an early Christian “abbot’s chair” will be installed in Rathcormac village park. Commissioned from Sligo-based sculptor Martha Quinn by Drumcliffe Rathcormac Tidy Towns Committee, with funding provided by the Department of Rural and Community Development’s Town & Village Renewal Scheme, the chair will be focal point for cultural activities such as public readings and talks, and a permanent legacy project for the anniversary year.
