Colmcille and the Battle of the Books, which took place at Cúl Dreimhne in 561AD, is the inspiration for this exhibition in the Hamilton Gallery ( Selected artists from across Ireland and Northern Ireland have been invited to give their take on the story of Colmcille and his illegal copying of a psalter that resulted in history’s first recorded infringement of copyright, which resulted in the battle at the foot of Benbulben.
