Colmcille and the Battle of the Books, which took place at Cúl Dreimhne in 561AD, is the inspiration for this exhibition in the Hamilton Gallery (www.hamiltongallery.ie). Selected artists from across Ireland and Northern Ireland have been invited to give their take on the story of Colmcille and his illegal copying of a psalter that resulted in history’s first recorded infringement of copyright, which resulted in the battle at the foot of Benbulben.
