Sligo Youth Theatre will present a dramatized re-imaging of the events surrounding and leading up to theĀ  Battle of the Books, which is recorded to have taken place on the lower slopes of Benbulben in 560CE. The battle came about as a result of Colmcille having been accused of copying a psalter belonging to St Finian, which is considered to be the first case of stolen intellectual property, an issue that remains a courtroom conundrum in the 21st century, almost 1500 years later.

Sligo Youth Theatre (www.sligoyouththeatre.ie) is funded under the Creative Ireland Programme (Sligo) 2018-2022.
